Insurance companies do not care why you do not currently
have an auto insurance policy (there are many different
reasons), but it will impact your auto insurance rate.
Below are some things to know and some tips if you
do not currently have auto insurance. |
|
|
- Expect a higher rate
At least initially insurance companies will charge
you more for your lack of auto insurance history.
- Shop around!
Different companies have different rates for customers
without auto insurance. Find the one that has the
lowest rate and meets your insurance needs.
- When your policy is about to expire, shop around
again!
Once you have had insurance for six months you have
established your insurance history. Shop around
again! Often your current insurance carrier will
not eliminate the extra charge they added for not
having insurance when you bought your policy. By
shopping around you can eliminate this charge with
a new provider!
- Know what to look for!
